Thanks to Önol Bilkur for serving as native speaker informant for these pages. Önol was raised in Ankara, son of a Turkish diplomat, and went to university at Robert College in Istanbul. He knew my mother before she knew my father as they all got master's degrees at Stanford in 1956, and as you can see here he was a blessing in my life. In this photo we are standing together with my grandparents in about 1971
